5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche

It's 1956 and The Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are hosting their annual quiche breakfast - and YOU'RE INVITED! They may appear to be docile, suburban housewives on the outside, but as the meeting progresses and the fear of atomic warfare looms nearer, the claws come out along with every skeleton in the sisters' closets! A wildly funny romp that will leave you hungry for more - quiche that is!

Audition Instructions:

Please note: In this production, all actresses will be required to consume eggs, (at various temperatures) as well as other quiche related foods. Any allergies or dislike for eggs unfortunately may not work for this production. All women will be required to sing, but not all women are required to sing well. Auditioners are asked to prepare 8-16 bars of a 1950's-style song. anything by Patti Page, Doris Day, Teresa Brewer, Dinah Shore, Kay Starr, etc. Please bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. The audition process will include the reading of sides, (provided at the audition), possibly cold readings from the script, improvisation and singing. All those auditioning are encouraged to provide a photo and resume of their onstage experience if possible. Please bring a list of all potential conflicts including travel, special events, holidays etc.

This fast-paced, witty and irreverent romp features infectious tunes and laugh out loud lyrics by musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum may be a 50 year-old musical based on 2000 year-old plays, but it remains a breath of fresh comic air, perfect for a summer evening!
