CTG scores Two Perry Awards!
Written by admin on September 28, 2009 – 1:05 pm -The Chester Theatre Group has won two NJACT “Perry Awards” for their 2008-2009 production “On Golden Pond.”
The Chester Theatre Group’s winners were; Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play: Rich Maloy, and Outstanding Properties: Lynn Hart, Pat Dougherty. The Chester Theatre Group performs at the historic Black River Playhouse in Chester, N.J.
The NJACT Perry Awards are given for outstanding achievements in community theater. More than 200 shows produced by theater companies around the state are submitted each year.
Congrats to Rich, Lynn and Pat!!!

CTG Wins Perry for Best Musical, Second Year Running
Written by admin on September 22, 2008 – 9:14 am -CTG’s production of The Baker’s Wife won Best Production of a Musical and Oustanding Lighting Design of a Musical at last night’s Perry Awards held at the Doubletree Hotel in Somerset.
CTG’s Best Musical award is their second in as many years. Along with The Baker’s Wife, CTG’s production of 1776 also picked up two awards.
Out of 17 nominations, CTG picked up awards for:
- Outstanding Lighting Design for a Musical – Ellen Fraker Glasscock – THE BAKER’S WIFE
- Outstanding Direction of a Musical – Mark Happel & Cliff Parrish – 1776
- Outstanding Musical Direction – Cliff Parrish – 1776
- Outstanding Production of a Musical – Ellen Fraker Glasscock – THE BAKER’S WIFE

Big Winners

NJACT handed out awards for excellence in New Jersey Community Theatre at a gala affair held on September 18. Chester Theatre Group’s production of Blood Brothers was nominated for awards in the following categories: Lighting Design for a Musical (Hannah Hendry), Sound Design (Jeff Knapp), Choreography (Billy Brisley), Stage Management (Roseann Ruggiero), Scenic Design for a Musical (Greg Moran), Musical Direction (Regan Ryzuk), Direction of a Musical (Scott Hart), Production of a Musical (Roseann Ruggier, Producer), Best Actor in a Musical (Jeffrey Fiorello), Best Actress in a Musical (Lynn Hart), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Carla Kendall) and Best Ensemble Performer in a Musical (Geraldine Baillod).
CTG was honored with trophies for Best Actress (Lynn Hart), Best Ensemble Performer (Geraldine Baillod) and Best Production (Roseann Ruggiero and CTG).
